The Zen Garden Capelet is the first Community Pattern to emerge from Cat’s legacy, pieced together from material developed by Cat herself, and only discovered since Cat’s passing. This beautiful group effort was knit together by Cat’s glorious community all over the world.
Some of the features within this capelet will require your blind trust, as is true with many of Cat’s patterns. In the test knitter group, it was common to hear, “What? How? Ohhhhhh! That’s so Cat!” Once you allow yourself to fall into the calming garter stitch rows, you will know exactly where this capelet derived its name from. If you have knit up a pair of Cat’s Zen Garden Fingerless Mitts, you will quickly find your rhythm. Enjoy!

Caron Simply Soft from my stash, unsure of quantities, used 10 colors. Tips: 1. Followed original pattern except for 1. 2 decrease wedges and 2 decrease wedges; 2. the very end where I completed last wedge and cast off using 3 needle bindoff, didn't do the unique wrong side row. 2. I cast on 120 stitches, adding an extra 20 stitches because I wanted it longer and wider, adding an extra w&to to each wedge making it wider. At the end I completed the last wedge, then repeated row 1, then the unique WS row before 3 needle bind off. 6-1-3-1-6 wedges. For the description of the K-below I would add the word /through after the word into.
